Keith and Jennifer had the privilege of spending time with the 3rd graders of Birch Elementary in Broomfield, Colorado on October 12th. Keith discussed the basic principles of lift and the major parts of the airplane. The kids were incredibly engaged and we really enjoyed all of their questions! [Read more…]
John and Keith did some outreach teaching at Wings Aerospace Academy (WAA) on September 14th. This Denver charter school holds classes at the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum…what an amazing learning environment! They discussed basic aerodynamics concepts with 6th graders and then performed flight test experiments to determine the glide ratio of our PAI gliders. They also had the opportunity to teach 9th graders (who they first met when they where 8th graders back in February this year) about stability and control of airplanes. The guys left inspired by their time spent with the future leaders of the aerospace industry! [Read more…]
For the second year in a row, PAI was a sponsor of “Matt’s Ride” a team of cyclists who participated in this year’s Courage Classic. The Courage Classic is a challenging 3-day, 100+ mile ride through the Rocky Mountains. Donations help doctors find a cure, as well as help patients in need, and fund research to cure childhood diseases. We are always happy to support our Colorado community and this great cause. Finish line picture is of Renee Van Treuren, our tech guru! [Read more…]
John and Keith met with 8th graders from Wings Aerospace Academy on February 3rd. Their time in and out of the classroom centered around explaining and demonstrating the aerodynamic forces involved in flight. PAI can’t wait to fly gliders with WAA students again!
We’ve always said we have the most talented students…check out this caricature of Keith and Ken drawn by Nate Phillips of Tall Tales Engineering. Tall Tales Engineering is passionate about making math, science, and engineering fun for kids. Visit the website http://www.tataengr.com/index.html and pick up his exciting children’s book, Feaver Fever in Spillage Village. We’re sure he’s inspiring many kids to become engineers… who sign up for PAI classes!
