Keith hopes to ensure the cubs from Cub Scout Pack 462 (out of Centennial, CO) design the fastest pinewood derby cars for their upcoming race by teaching them all about aerodynamics! The boys learned the importance of reducing friction and drag to increase their cars’ speed, then applied the principles to airplanes. [Read more…]
Keith and John spent some time with 14 6th graders from Wings Aerospace Academy on October 26th. Through the fun activity of building and flying gliders, they introduced the children to fundamental aerodynamic concepts, basic test and analysis methods, and hopefully inspired some future engineers! Thanks WAA for having us!
PAI was a sponsor of “Matt’s Ride” a team of cyclists who participated in this year’s Courage Classic. The Courage Classic is a challenging 3-day, 100+ mile ride through the Rocky Mountains. Donations help doctors find a cure, as well as help patients in need, and fund research to cure childhood diseases. We are happy to support our Colorado community and this great cause. Team members pictured are, Renee Van Treuren and Lisa Austin. Way to go!
Approximately 20 5th grade students from Guy B. Teachey Elementary, in Asheboro, NC, learn about airplane motion with Balsa Wood Gliders. The presentation was taught by Jesse Havens, on 1/12/15, and helped to link their vocabulary, spelling, and scientific definitions to the specific aeronautical concepts they were learning.
