Dr. Paul Eastman is a Professor Emeritus at Brigham Young University in the Department of Mechanical Engineering where he taught Aerodynamcis, Materials, Composite Material Design and honors classes in several areas. He was Honors Teacher of the Year of Brigham Young University in 2007 and received numerous awards for teaching. He was the Director of the Utah Center of Excellence Application Center for Materials Engineering and Co-director of the Advanced Composite Manufacturing and Engineering Center. He previously was Research Associate for E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Company developing polymer film products. He was a graduate of the University of Utah with a BA in Physics and PhD in Ceramic Engineering. Paul is an active pilot with glider, single and multi-engine, commercial, instrument and instructor ratings. Paul loves to teach and has mentored more than 100 students in extracurricular projects that included an X-ray telescope designed to fly as a Get-Away-Special experiment on the Space Shuttle and multi-university large hybrid rocket designed to fly to over 100,000 foot altitude.
